MIRCal - Proposed Regulations - 15 Day Public Comment Period

Present on Admission and Principal Language Spoken Regulations Update

What has happened to the proposed Present on Admission and Principal Language Spoken regulations since July’s public comment period ended on July 17th, 2008?
Following review of our proposed regulations by the Office of Administrative Law (OAL) OSHPD was required to make some changes to the proposed regulations. We withdrew our proposed regulations to make the recommended changes and are now opening a second public comment period so that you, members of the public, may review and comment on the changes.

Present on Admission and Principal Language Spoken Regulations 15 Day Re-Notice
OSHPD has incorporated the changes recommended by OAL and is now resubmitting the proposed regulations for a 15-Day Notice period. This 15-Day Public Comment Period begins on September 5, 2008 and ends at 5 pm on September 20, 2008.

You are invited to review the submitted documents and submit written comments before 5pm on Saturday, September 20, 2008.

What has changed since July 17 when the Public Comment Period ended?
First, please be reassured that no Format or Specification has been changed. No forms have changed. No additional requirements have been added and no requirements have been deleted. (more . . .)

We anticipate that all proposed materials will be replaced with approved materials (the same documents but with the "Draft" and "Proposed" watermarks and designations removed) following the 30-Day review by the Office of Administrative Law.

If approved, the regulations could become effective immediately, depending on the decision of OAL. Our website will be updated and all current Interested Parties and MIRCal contacts will be notified when regulatory approval is granted.
